October’s special fall garbage collection is almost here

City of Edmundston's Public Works Department informs citizens that the special fall garbage collection will take place as usual, in OCTOBER:

• the week of October 9th in sectors where garbage is usually picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays
• the week of October 16th in sectors where garbage is picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays

You do NOT have to pre-register for this type of collection, which allows you to get rid of your large garbage, i.e., items that are not picked up during the regular pick-up. We ask you to:

• assemble debris so it can be picked up by hand, including construction, or renovation materials
• respect the quantity limit (what an ordinary pick-up truck's cargo can contain)
• not to place waste too close to fire hydrants (at least 1 m)
• place the items at the curb (not in a trailer) ONLY ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 8th or 15th depending on your sector
• bring green materials (branches, leaves and grass) directly to the green waste collection site on Titus Road.

This will ensure cleanliness along our public roads. For people who have already placed garbage at the curb, please pick it up for now, or get an online tipping fee waiver.

In addition, a hazardous household waste collection will be held on October 21st at the Public Works Department (75 Morneault Street) from 9 a.m. to noon.
