May 2023 special garbage collection

May 9, 2023

The City of Edmundston's Public Works Department informs Ward 1 to 4 citizens that the special spring garbage collection will take place as usual, in MAY:

- the week of May 15th in sectors where garbage is usually picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays

- the week of May 22nd in sectors where garbage is picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays

As for Rivière-Verte, Ward 5, the special collection will also be carried out during the week of May 15th by NorthWest Sanitation Services Ltd.

It should be noted that special collections are carried out gradually in the LSDs of St-Jacques and St-Joseph, so there is no specific date for this type of collection.

Please note that this is a transition year for our municipal services. We will let you know of any changes to the collection schedule if applicable.

You do NOT have to pre-register for this type of collection, which allows you to get rid of your large garbage, i.e. items that are not picked up during the regular pick-up. We ask you to :

• assemble debris so it can be picked up by hand
• respect the quantity limit (what an ordinary pick-up truck's cargo can contain)
• not to throw construction, demolition, or renovation materials (they will not be picked up)
• not to place waste too close to fire hydrants (at least 1 m)
• place the items at the curb (not in a trailer) ONLY ON SUNDAY MAY 14th or 21st depending on your sector
• bring green materials (branches, leaves, and grass) directly to the green waste collection site on Titus Road

This will ensure cleanliness along our public roads. For people who have already placed garbage at the curb, please pick it up for now, or get an online tipping fee waiver.

In addition, a hazardous household waste collection will be held on May 27th at the Public Works Department (75 Morneault Street) from 9 a.m. until noon.

You can consult and download the online 2023 collection calendar anytime.

Thank you for your collaboration!
