Garbage & Recycling Collections: Modified Schedule during the Holidays & 2026 Calendars

The City of Edmundston Public Works Department wishes to inform you of the modified Holiday Collections Schedule and where you can obtain your 2026 Collections Calendar.

- Collections (Garbage and Recycling) scheduled for Thursday, December 25th will take place on Wednesday, December 24th (Green Calendar).

- Collections scheduled for Thursday, January 1st, 2026, will take place on Wednesday, December 31st (Garbage) and Friday, January 2nd (Recycling) (Blue Calendar).

Please note that there may be delays in some areas but rest assured that all bins should be emptied before the end of each respective week.

* If you have excess household waste over the holidays, the Public Works Department has a container available at 75 Morneault Street, in the République Industrial Park, from December 22 to January 5 inclusively.

You can bring your Christmas trees and natural wreaths, no later than Monday, January 5, to one of the following recycling sites: the Public Works Department, the Green Waste Collection Site on Titus Road, the Saint-Basile Arena, the Saint-Jacques Palladium, Verret sector's Mgr-Eymard-Desjardins Centre, or Rivière-Verte sector's municipal building.

2026 Collection Calendars

Due to the Canada Post strike and the increasing number of people paying their bills online, collection calendars will not be mailed to all households this year. We encourage you to download the NRSC App. This app will send you a text message notification indicating that your collections will take place the following day.

The 2026 collection calendars are available on our website here: 2026 COLLECTIONS CALENDARS. Simply enter your address and your calendar will appear. You can view and/or print it directly at home.

Copies are also available at:

- City Hall (cash counter)

- Public Works Department

- Sports Pavilion

- Arts' Centre

- Mgr-W.-J.-Conway Public Library

Since there are two collection rounds following the 2023 amalgamation, there are also two separate calendars, a blue one and a green one.

* Please make sure that your street name is on the back of the calendar.

- Blue Calendar: Riviera Park; Edmundston-North; Saint-Joseph LSD; Edmundston-East (Avenues and surroundings); Downtown; Sacré-Cœur; Edmundston-East (Regional Hospital area) and Saint-Basile sector.

- Green Calendar: Canada Road; Bagosse; Verret; Edmundston-West; Saint-Jacques; Saint-Jacques LSD and Saint-Joseph LSD; Saint-Basile (towards Rivière-Verte) and the Rivière-Verte sector.

To maximize our recycling efforts, you can consult the Circular Materials website at any time, which manages recycling at the national level.

You can also consult the Northwest Regional Service Commission's sorting tool to learn how to recycle products from A to Z.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
