Tips for Halloween!

Tips for Halloween!

Since Halloween is on a Thursday this year, activities will also be held during the weekend. The Police Force asks for the collaboration of everyone to ensure the safety of young and not so young.

For parents and children:

  • Make sure your children remain visible, no matter what costume they choose. Put reflective strips on their costume, give them glow sticks or even a flashlight.
  • Ask your kids to avoid masks so their vision is not obstructed. Also check the length of their costume to prevent them from tripping.
  • Pay attention to motorists. Walk one side of the street at a time and look on both sides before crossing.
  • Protect your home while you are away. Lock doors and windows.

For people who give candy:

  • Make sure the exterior of your home is well lit so that little ones can easily access your door.
  • Make sure your driveway, stairs and railings are safe to avoid falls.
  • Avoid lighting your Halloween decorations with candles. Costumes, paper, and straw decorations can easily catch fire.
  • Keep your pets at a distance.

For motorists:

  • Please slow down and pay special attention to the little costumed ones who will be walking our streets this Halloween.

The Recreation and Sports Department invites kids to the Sports Pavilion on Friday November 1 for its annual Halloween activity. It's free!

The Edmundston Police Force will increase its patrols on municipal territory during the evening, and thanks you in advance for your collaboration.
