Two major seizures in two days

First seizure and arrest

In Edmundston, on June 26, 2025, the NB Integrated Law Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Edmundston Police Force, executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in an appartment located on 21 Ave., in Edmundston.

During the search, police officers seized a considerable quantity of methamphetamine pills, various prescription drugs intended for resale, drug paraphernalia, weapons and a large quantity of material used in the manufacture of clothing and accessories associated with a criminal motorcycle gang.

It is important to note that the residence in question is located near a school, which increases the seriousness of the offense. 46-year-old Diane Morin, appeared in court the day after her arrest, and remains in custody until her next appearance in Provincial Court on July 22, 2025, for her plea. This is the second search of this kind at Morin's residence, in less than a year.

Second seizure and arrest

On June 27, 2025, the NB Integrated Law Enforcement Unit, again in collaboration with the Edmundston Police Force, arrested a 59-year-old woman following the execution of a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence located on St-François Street, in Edmundston. At the scene, officers seized a considerable quantity of methamphetamine tablets, contraband tobacco, and prescription drugs intended for resale. Paraphernalia related to the trafficking of illicit substances was also seized on the scene. This intervention is part of an ongoing investigation aimed at battling drug trafficking in the region. Further charges may be filed against the 59-year-old woman.

The Edmundston Police Force wishes to reassure the public that it is actively battling drug trafficking in the region. "We are committed to protecting our community and our families from the devastating effects of the distribution and use of illicit substances," said Chief Steve Robinson of the Edmundston Police Force. "The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking or other crimes," Chief Robinson reiterated.
