As part of the "Elves’ Hopping Spree" event, which will take place from November 26 to December 24, the City of Edmundston is calling on citizens to illuminate and decorate all sectors of the municipality, through a great Holiday lights and decoration contest for private residences.
The objective of this initiative is to add a magical atmosphere in all neighbourhoods for the holiday season and to allow people to visit and appreciate the character of each sector.
There is no cost to enter the contest. However, to be eligible for prizes, citizens must register by filling out THIS FORM and submit a photo of their decorated and illuminated home. The photos will then be added to the interactive map "Festive Home Trails". This map will be accessible to everyone via the Elves' Hopping Spree website.
A draw will be held in each neighbourhood of the city. The winners will receive a prize valued at $250 each.
"Although the Elves’ Hopping Spree will be concentrated in the downtown area with its animated shop windows, festive music and great holiday decorations, we hope that the entire city will put on its best holiday finery to welcome the tourists who will come to see the most festive city in New Brunswick!" said Edmundston Mayor Eric Marquis.
The "Elves’ Hopping Spree" is back for a second year in an even more impressive version with magical decorations and animations to allow people to immerse themselves in the holiday season. The light shows and animated shop windows will be worth a visit, as will the discovery of brand new decorated and illuminated sites.
The private home lighting and decoration contest is an addition to the program to extend the festivities in all neighbourhoods in the city. People can register from November 26. The winners will be announced on December 23.
