Police Force launches new cadet recruitment program

The Edmundston Police Force announces the official launch of its new police cadet recruitment program, in collaboration with the Atlantic Police Academy (APA) at Holland College in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

This initiative aims to prepare the next generation by offering interested candidates the opportunity to access professional training leading to a career in public safety. The 20-week police science cadet program will begin in January 2026. Interested candidates can consult the employement opportunities section on the City of Edmundston's website.

"While we currently have all the staff we need to run the organization efficiently, we must also consider the future. This program will allow us to ensure a smooth transition over the years and continue to provide professional and local service to the public," said Steve Robinson, Chief of the Edmundston Police Force.

Those interested in learning more are invited to an information session on Tuesday, August 5, at 7 p.m., at the Edmundston Police Station. This is a unique opportunity to ask questions, meet team members, and gain a better understanding of the cadet path and the work of a police officer.
