Jeux de l’Acadie finals to be hosted by the City of Edmundston in 2026

Last Saturday, October 28th, as part of the annual meeting of la Société des Jeux de l'Acadie in Bouctouche, the City of Edmundston was named 2026 Jeux de l'Acadie finals host city.

This announcement delights Edmundston Mayor, Éric Marquis who assures that everything will be ready to welcome young athletes from the four corners of l'Acadie. “Our sports infrastructures and our secondary and post-secondary educational institutions are all in the same area, called Édupôle. Cité des jeunes A.-M.-Sormany, l’Université de Moncton Edmundston campus and the New Brunswick Community College, the Jean-Daigle Centre, the track and field... It will be an awesome gathering, and our community is thrilled,” said Edmundston Mayor Éric Marquis.

The athletes will therefore meet in Bouctouche in 2024, Dieppe in 2025 and Edmundston in 2026 when the 45th anniversary of this great meeting of Acadian youth sports will be celebrated. This will be the third time that the grand finals of les Jeux de l’Acadie will be presented in Edmundston. The municipality has hosted in 1997 and 2011. (Source: Radio-Canada)
