For 15 years, the City of Edmundston City Council has highlighted the work, community involvement and influence of citizens and organizations by recognizing “Community Stars”, during public meetings.
Here are these Community Stars of the past year who were recognized following the State of the City 2022 address, on Thursday, May 12.
Sophie Dupont (Ergo Consult) - « La Relance Sociale » Initiative
Thomas Chassé - Raising awareness about the LGBTQIA2S+ community realities
Marc-Antoine Clavette - « Les jeunes écologiques » Facebook Group
Madeleine Dubé - Dedication to the people and the community’s well-being
Francine Fournier Cyr - Full time volunteer
Christian Landry & France St-Onge (Sono Cléfs) - Animation of events with sounds and lights
Doris Hébert & his gang of volunteers - Dedication to the Edmundston Regional Hospital Foundation
Charles Lagassé - Contribution to the Edmundston Lancaster major exhibition at the Musée historique du Madawaska
Élodie Martin, Myriam Plourde, Inass Rachidi et Olivia Levesque (NES 15 years+ girls swim team) - Breaking all team records in the N.B. Spring Championship
All of them received a unique certificate, as well as an exclusive pewter pin made by New Brunswick artisans, from Mayor Eric Marquis.
“These people stand out as leaders who, through their words and actions, demonstrate a deep commitment to their municipality and the people of the community”, said Edmundston Mayor Eric Marquis. “The Edmundston City Council, joins me in thanking and congratulating these community stars who make our city shine!” concluded Mayor Marquis.
