The body of the person missing since last April found lifeless

It is with great regret that the Edmundston Police Force confirms that the body of Mr. Pierre Lebel was found lifeless.

On Thursday, September 5, a citizen informed the Edmundston Police Force that Mr. Lebel's vehicle had possibly been spotted in a Rivière-Verte wooded area​​. On the scene, members of the EPF and RCMP officers confirmed that it was indeed Mr. Lebel’s vehicle. They also noted that an inanimate body, identified as Mr. Pierre Lebel, was found inside the vehicle.

The coroner's investigation continues to determine the exact cause of death.

The Police Force had received the report of the 42-year-old man’s disappearance last April 30. It should be noted that the population of Edmundston and surrounding areas, collaborated significantly throughout this investigation. 

The Edmundston Police Force and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police offer their most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Lebel during these difficult times.
