The Skate Plaza is now open!

The Recreation and Sports Department would like to inform the population that the Skate Plaza is officially open, as of Wednesday, September 20th.

The municipality would like to thank the workers who were able to carry out the final development work in record time. We remind you that it is important to respect the barricades and avoid walking on the grass in order not to damage it. Skateboarders, freestyle scooter riders, in-line skaters and BMX riders ONLY are permitted in the park. Certain rules must be respected to keep the park in good condition and to avoid incidents:

• Do not walk on the perimeter of the park (to avoid the presence of mud in the park)
• Use of the park is reserved for skateboarders, freestyle scooters, in-line skaters and BMX enthusiasts ONLY (poles - pegs, pedals and plastic handles on BMXs)
• No mountain bikes are accepted in the park (to avoid the presence of rocks in the park, the handles and pedals can also damage the cement.) *Please use Sentiers Madawaska Trails
• Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended

Remember that this project came to life thanks to the efforts of a citizen committee and the contribution of numerous community sponsors, including the Edmundston Knights of Columbus Council 1932, major contributors.

The official opening presenting the donor recognition wall is planned for spring 2024.
