HotSpot parking zones now operational downtown Edmundston

Downtown Edmundston is proud to announce the arrival of HotSpot Parking, a modern digital parking solution, now operational on four downtown lots.

Thanks to this partnership, users will now be able to pay for parking more easily from their smartphones using the HotSpot app. This new approach aims to provide a smoother, more efficient experience that is better suited to current consumer habits.

The lots involved in this implementation are located at the following locations:

  • P2 – Immaculate Conception Cathedral lot – Along Laporte Avenue
  • Multi-story parking garage – 150 Church Street
  • Former Edmundston Toyota lot – 121 Canada Highway
  • Land on Veterans Drive

“The goal is to improve parking flexibility in the downtown area while adopting technologies that are user-friendly for citizens and visitors,” said Elaine Roussel, Director of Downtown Edmundston.

Users who want longer parking times can now take advantage of off-street parking spaces for extended periods (by the hour, half-day, or full day). Spaces are available in public parking lots, Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Users can pay using the Hot Spot mobile app, at a rate of $2 per hour, $5 for half a day, or $8 for the entire day.

On-street parking remains completely free. The average cost of monthly parking passes is now set at $37.50. Off-street parking lot P7, located behind the police station, remains completely free throughout the day.

Informational posters have been put up on site to guide users during this transition period. People will also have the option of going directly to the Edmundston Downtown office at 55 Church Street for assistance.

Edmundston Centre-Ville is a non-profit association that has been working for over 40 years to promote the downtown area as a vibrant and attractive place to live, facilitating events, commercial development, and communication with residents, users, and business people. Its current strategic plan promotes initiatives in the areas of cleanliness and safety, promotion, identity, and transportation.
