Let's limit our water usage

The Public Works Department annually flushes the drinking water system in all sectors of the City of Edmundston mid-August. However, due to the current drought in our region and across the province, the annual flushing and inspection of hydrants will be postponed until the fall.

To help preserve water, the opening hours of the Saint-Basile Sector splash pad will be reduced from noon to 7 p.m., until further notice. People will therefore be able to cool off there during the hottest parts of the day. Please note that the Lions Pool is also open for swimming (schedule here).

We ask residents to minimize their water consumption at home as much as possible. Please do not water your lawns, lands, driveways, or any other property, and do not wash or rinse your vehicles for now. These are preventive measures to ensure that we have water provisions.

Our teams are closely monitoring municipal water levels and will have to take additional restrictive measures if the drought continues.
