Water Level and Flow on the Rise

People living along the Madawaska River, particularly in the Baisley Road area, will notice that the water level and flow will be rising for some time.

Due to the heavy rains of the last few days, Hydro-Québec had to lower the water level of Lac Témiscouata, which serves as a natural reservoir.

If possible, please shore up your docks, securely tie down your boats, and remove any furniture near the Madawaska River for the time being.

The water level at the Madawaska Dam located downtown Edmundston is being maintained lower than usual, at this time of year, to drain the water as quickly as possible.
