Appointment of a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer

Following a needs analysis at the municipal administration level, a change was made to the organizational structure and, as a result, the Edmundston City Council approved the appointment of Mr. Marco Daigle to the position of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Daigle will continue to combine his duties as Director of Administrative Services and Treasurer.

It should be noted that with the June 1st retirement of Mr. Daniel Gagné, Assistant Chief Administrator of Operations, the position was modified to meet new needs within the organization. Mr. Richard Daigle will be the new Director of Operations.

Marco Daigle has been employed by the City of Edmundston since 2011 as Director of Finance and Treasurer. A chartered professional accountant, he has held positions as controller, accountant, and administrator over the years in various companies and organizations.

With the support of City Council and the Finance Department team, he has contributed to the financial stability of the municipality since his hiring. He has also been instrumental in the implementation of asset management and continuous improvement programs, strategic planning with council and has been involved in several administrative initiatives. He specialises in the development and operation of financial and administrative procedures, financial analysis and the development and monitoring of budgets.

In his new position, Mr. Daigle will assist the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Marc Michaud, in general administrative tasks, including planning, organizing, management and overseeing the activities of other municipal services.
