Non-compliant Vehicles Operations

On Wednesday, September 10, a team composed of members of the Edmundston Police Force and traffic enforcement officers inspected several vehicles in the Edmundston area.

The purpose of this operation was primarily to identify vehicles deemed non-compliant according to the Law.

In total, approximately forty vehicles were inspected. Here are the statistics related to this joint operation:

• 35 tickets issued (speeding, failure to obey a stop sign, driving while using a cell phone, inspection and/or inspection expired, unsafe, invalid license, etc.)

• 14 vehicles were towed for some of these reasons

• 11 of the 14 towed vehicles were deemed unsafe for use on our roads by certified inspectors

• 20 warnings were issued to the vehicle owners so that they could have their vehicles repaired

This operation demonstrates that collaboration between agencies is paying off and making our communities safer.
