Spring rhymes with cleaning, but it is still important to throw away things in the right place. The Public Works Department reminds you to use your recycling bin (blue bin) for recyclable items only.
L’Atelier des Copains, which sorts recyclables for the municipality, is currently dealing with a high rate of rejection in the recyclable items they receive. Remember that a soiled item can contaminate an entire recyclable items’ cargo.
In the recycling bin (blue bin), the following items must be dropped, clean and dry, directly in the bin (not in plastic bags):
- clean cardboard and paper
- plastics with recyclable logo (1,2,3,5 and 7)
- Metal tin cans only
In the garbage bin (black or green bin), in plastic bags:
- household waste (food scraps, litter, non-recyclable items, etc.)
As for leaves, branches, grass and other green waste, please bring them to Titus Road collection site. For larger items, please wait until we announce the May special garbage collection dates before placing them on the curb. We will announce the collection dates shortly.
If you would like to get rid of these large items immediately, you can always fill out an online Tipping Fee Waiver coupon, get a copy at the City Hall cash counter or, by calling 739-2119.
For a small fee Gallant Entreprises can also pick up your large items. You can call them directly at 739-9390.
Thank you for your collaboration!
