Richard Daigle appointed Director of Operations

Following an internal competition, the municipal administration confirms the appointment of Mr. Richard Daigle as Director of Operations for the City of Edmundston. Mr. Daigle will officially take office upon the appointment of the person who will succeed him at the head of the Public Works Department.

Richard Daigle will replace Mr. Daniel Gagné who is retiring at the end of May, and who has held this position since 2006.

An employee of the City of Edmundston since 2008, Mr. Daigle has acquired experience at several levels. He held the position of water and sewer coordinator for 12 years, and engineer-infrastructure coordinator for one year before becoming director of the Public Works Department in 2022.

Mr. Daigle holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Université de Moncton and has taken several training courses over the years, including disaster site management, human resources management skills development and labour conflict management.

As Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Daigle was responsible for the planning, supervision, and evaluation of his sector and for mobilizing teams to achieve the objectives set by City Council. He was also responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan and key performance indicators specific to the department.

Richard Daigle is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of New Brunswick.
