The Edmundston Police Force is officially launching its annual Sharing Tree Community Initiative, which will offer snacks and board games to families this year, so they can have a nicer holiday season. The initiative also aims at uniting the community and the Police Force towards a common goal.
“It’s a great way for the community to make a difference in the lives of many people during this time of year,” explains Community Police Officer, Tonia Roussel. "The Cité des Jeunes A.-M.-Sormany gives us a big helping hand, by preparing and wrapping gift baskets. We therefore invite people to make an anonymous contribution which will help brighten up Christmas season for kids and their families, for whom the holiday season can be more difficult," she concludes.
To make a donation, it's very simpler. Go directly to the City of Edmundston's police station, on Thursday, November 30th or Friday, December 1st, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., make a 25$ donation and get a 2023 Sharing Tree ornament. You can also bring an unwrapped board game worth $25, which is the theme of the 2023 campaign.
This year, the Sharing Tree initiative's goal is to help more than 150 families in the community by offering them gift baskets. These will be delivered by members of the Police Force the week before Christmas.
If this objective is exceeded, profits will go to the Bob-Fife Foundation, an organization which provides free meals to children in schools of our region.
The City of Edmundston Police Force thanks you in advance for your generosity!
