Surviving the Holiday Season: think before you drive

The Edmundston Police Force and the Action Committee towards a drug-free community would like to remind you avoid driving after consuming alcohol and/or drugs.

Driving a vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs that affects your judgment, reduces your level of attention and concentration, significantly increases the risks of accidents. Alcohol and/or drugs also affects your reaction time, posing a danger to you and other motorists on the road.

In addition, the consequences that may result from these actions could affect you, as well as the lives of other people, entire families, for the rest of your lives. So, if you are consuming during this time of festivities, please plan your travels accordingly. Plan a designated driver, call a relative, a friend, a taxi, or Operation Nez Rouge, which will be available on December 29th and 31st.

  • Edmundston Taxi: 506.838.1514
  • Taxi Camille: 506.739.8480
  • Operation Red Nose Edmundston: 506.739.5555

Please don't be selfish and think about all the lives you could affect if you decide to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Also note that the Edmundston Police Force will increase its presence on the roads during this holiday season, in order to carry out checks and protect users.

We wish you a wonderful and safe holiday season. Health and happiness for the next year!
