Following the amalgamation of the Village of Rivière-Verte, part of the local service district (DSL) of Saint-Jacques and part of the DSL of Saint-Joseph in January 2023, the City of Edmundston must update its Municipal development plan and its decrees regulating the use of its territory. The new documents which will cover the entire community will thus ensure concerted planning of the use of land, resources, infrastructure and services.
Before the adoption of these decrees by the municipal council, a public consultation process used to collect comments and suggestions from citizens is currently taking place in three phases:
• Posting of an online survey (February 2024)
• Public consultations (April 2024)
• Collection of comments/suggestions by post, email, telephone or at City Hall
During the public consultations, Mr. Pascal Hudon, City of Edmundston Urban Planning Coordinator, will address the following points:
Citizens are therefore invited to participate in one of the following two public consultations:
- Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 7 p.m., at the Rivière-Verte municipal building
- Thursday, April 4, 2024, 7 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus hall in Saint-Jacques
For those who were unable to respond to the online survey or attend the public consultations, but who wish to make comments and/or suggestions, it is possible to do so:
- By mail: Development Department, c/o Pascal Hudon, City of Edmundston, 7 ch. Canada, Edmundston, NB, E3V 1T7
- By email: developpement@edmundston.ca
- By telephone: 506.739.2115
- In person at City Hall, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
We thank you in advance for your valuable collaboration.
