These pages were created to allow you to easily stay abreast of news, events, activities and information concerning your City.
These pages are also open to your questions, but are not a place for complaints*.
*IMPORTANT: The city's Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages are not a substitute for the 9-1-1 emergency service or the Requests and Comments Department. To submit a comment or request, please contact us at 506.739.2115.

We look forward to hearing from you. We welcome your questions, shares, photos and comments. Freedom of expression is a fundamental value, but it is important to exercise it while respecting the rules designed to ensure a respectful and pleasant discussion environment.
You are welcome to contribute to the City's social media pages insofar as your participation does not conflict with the rules set out below, in order to ensure a courteous and democratic climate and to maintain the quality and relevance of the content published on the pages.
If this is not the case, we reserve the right to delete without notice any content that is irrelevant or contrary to the rules.

The City of Edmundston's Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages are administered by the Communications Department.
The Department is committed to responding, as quickly as possible and to the best of its knowledge, to comments and messages posted on the pages.
Please note that we read all comments, questions and opinions posted on the pages. Although the Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages are regularly monitored, they are not active 24 hours a day.
As some responses also depend on a reference to certain municipal departments, a delay in response may occur. With some exceptions, the persons in charge of communications, Mychèle Poitras and Annie Dancause, are responsible for publications, comments and responses on these pages.

The Communications Department voluntarily limits the information disseminated by tagging the subjects covered to ensure that the interest of City of Edmundston social media users is maintained.

The Communications Department does not play favourites.
The City cannot guarantee that it has all the information, and it is the responsibility of the organisations to provide the editorial and visual content.
However, the city is not obliged to disseminate your information and will give priority to those elements deemed, depending on the context, to be the most relevant for the benefit of all citizens.

- Any comment deemed aggressive, vulgar, insulting, indecent, coarse, obscene, abusive, hateful, sexist, racist, homophobic or disrespectful towards a person or group of people, as well as any personal attack or invasion of privacy
- Any comment or statement with the aim of defaming people or organisations
- Any advertising or promotional solicitation, whether for a product, a service or a cause
- Any content published under the guise of a nickname or in the name of an organisation or company without authorisation is prohibited
- Any repeated messages or any use of comment spaces for propaganda or solicitation for political, professional or commercial purposes.

These pages, which are managed exclusively by members of the City's staff, is in no way a political forum.
All users, citizens and administrators alike, have a duty to report facts in a neutral manner. Under no circumstances will this page be used to support or promote the candidacy of a candidate or to communicate strictly political opinions.

The City of Edmundston reserves the right to:
- use and publish in its communications tools any comment, name or photo published on our Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages. Photos may be used in whole or in part, with credit given
- respond to and comment on interventions. The Communications Department reserves the right to modify the elements of its Netiquette at any time and without prior notice.
