
Edmond U. Thériault
Mr. Edmond U. Thériault was born in Rivière-Verte on October 9, 1907. He was the son of Ubald and Flavie Thériault.
On July 14, 1938, in the church in Lille, Maine, Edmond married Cora Picard, daughter of Clovis Picard and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Picard. The couple had eight children:
Mr. Thériault worked for the village of Saint-Basile for some fifteen years as a secretary and maintenance man.
In 1974, Mr. Thériault decided to run for mayor of Saint-Basile. His opponent was Harvey Clavette. Edmond U. Thériault won and became the third mayor of Saint-Basile.
Mayor Edmond U. Thériault died in Saint-Basile on August 19, 1992 at the age of 84 years and 10 months.
