Edmundston to host the major Arts Atlantic Symposium in 2027!

In 2027, the City of Edmundston will host the Arts Atlantic Symposium presented by ArtsLinkNB. The official announcement was made at the provincial organization's annual general meeting in Saint John on October 19.

The Arts Atlantic Symposium (AAS) is a major three-day event for artists and arts professionals from the Atlantic provinces.

The aim is to grow and strengthen the arts community by providing a space to meet, learn, share and collaborate. Participants will be able to develop their skills, create links in the regional and national arts network, and discover new ideas for developing their practice.

The AAS celebrates all the disciplines, languages and cultures of New Brunswick and the Atlantic. It also features a public festival with performances, exhibitions and installations, as well as a professional conference with speakers, panels and networking activities. In short, it's three days to get inspired, learn and showcase Atlantic art in all its forms.

Edmundston Mayor Eric Marquis is delighted with the announcement. "Hosting the Arts Atlantic Symposium in 2027 is a source of great pride for our community. Edmundston stands out for its cultural dynamism and openness. This will be an exceptional opportunity to showcase the talent of artists from here and abroad, and to strengthen the ties that unite creators throughout the Atlantic region.”

Around 250 delegates are expected to attend. As the symposium is accompanied by a public festival, activities will be held throughout the city.
