The Police Force joins the community to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day, which takes place every year on December 6th, is a time to remember the victims of the tragedy at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1989, as well as to be more aware of the violence against women and girls everywhere in Canada and around the world.
The Edmundston Police Force is deeply committed to the fight against gender-based violence and recognizes that violence against women is a tragic reality in our society.
Education and awareness also play a crucial role in preventing violence. In this regard, the Police Force is committed to collaborate with regional community partners and organizations to promote initiatives aimed at eliminating gender-based violence.
The Edmundston Police Force therefore invites members of the community to honor the memory of the victims and reaffirm a collective commitment to put an end to violence against women, on this day of December 6th.
Together, we can make a difference.
