At its April public meeting, City Council approved the appointment of Michel Pelletier as Inspector of the Edmundston Police Force. Mr. Pelletier's appointment is effective as of April 14. He replaces Martin Perron, who recently assumed the position of Deputy Chief of Administration for the Police Force.
Mr. Pelletier has been a member of the Edmundston Police Force for over 20 years. He even started as a student bicycle patrol officer for a few summers. A graduate in police science from the Atlantic Police Academy, Mr. Pelletier has the necessary experience and diverse knowledge that will be assets in his new position.
Over the years, Mr. Pelletier has worked as a patrol officer, investigator, supervisory sergeant of the patrol section, and most recently, supervisory sergeant of the investigation section. Michel is a great martial arts enthusiast and a seasoned instructor in the use of force, who trains the next generation.
"Mr. Pelletier has the experience and qualities necessary to successfully carry out his new duties as inspector. His extensive training has made him an outstanding instructor. He is a team player who knows how to adapt to each situation while keeping a cool head, which is an asset for any organization. We are confident that he will be able to leverage his experience, knowledge, and leadership skills in his new role," explained Police Force Director Steve Robinson.
