On a daily basis, the City of Edmundston's Communications Department deploys a wide range of communication methods aimed at keeping citizens well informed and making municipal information easy, pleasant, accessible and understandable for everyone. The team is constantly seeking to adapt and develop new tools and ways of doing things, which are constantly evolving.
With this in mind, the Communications Department would like to use a short online survey to ascertain the relevance and interest of the public in certain communications tools currently in use, the different ways in which they are disseminated and the nature of the subjects proposed, with a view to keeping the public well informed, based on their habits, realities and convictions.
"The field of communications is constantly evolving. It's a good idea to question the processes in place and contribute to the development of the means and tools used, according to the realities of the moment. Through this survey, we want to understand how best to reach people. We're hoping that a large number of people will respond to the survey and, at the same time, provide us with suggestions for improvement," explains communications coordinator Mychèle Poitras.
One of the objectives of the strategic plan adopted by the municipal council in June 2022 was to maximise public involvement and facilitate access to information. Based on the results, the department will be able to better target its actions, orientations and decision-making, as well as properly identify the public's expectations and needs, in order to convey relevant, interesting and appropriate information.
The survey was open from October 23 to the 29th.
