On February 27th, 2023, members of the Provincial Integrated Law Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the patrol section and the investigation section of the Edmundston Police Force, arrested a 34 year old man for possessing a large quantity of drugs, which he transported in a motor vehicle. The man was questioned and then released on promise to appear in Provincial Court on May 9th, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. to face drug possession charges.
On March 1st, 2023, members of the same team arrested a 32-year-old woman for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. A search took place in a residence on St-François Street in Edmundston, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of methamphetamine tablets. The woman was released on a promise to appear and will also appear in Provincial Court on May 9th, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., facing charges of drug possession for trafficking purposes.
During that search, a 36-year-old man, who was at the scene, was arrested for drug possession. He will also appear on May 9th, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. to face a drug possession charge.
Note that the Provincial Integrated Law Enforcement Unit is composed of members of the New Brunswick Public Safety and the Edmundston Police Force. This unit was created to fight drug-related crimes in the region.
