A man and a woman arrested following a seizure in Rivière-Verte

On November 30th, following an investigation, the New Brunswick Integrated Law Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Edmundston Police Force and the RCMP, executed a search warrant in a residence on Chemin Montagne de La Croix, in Rivière-Verte.

During this search, the police seized several hundred tablets of suspected methamphetamine, firearms, as well as a considerable sum of money.

At the scene, a 34-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man were arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of drugs, respectively.

Other charges could also be filed against the individuals related to the firearms.

Both individuals were released on a promise to appear in Edmundston Provincial Court, on February 13th, 2024.

Note that the New Brunswick Integrated Law Enforcement Unit is is composed of members of the RCMP and members of provincial Police Forces, as well as employees of the Department of Justice and Public Safety. Their efforts aim to intervene in a more coordinated manner, in order to counter organized crime and crimes related to drugs and weapons, which are of increasing concern in the province.
