Safe exchange zone: a good thing to know!

Located alongside the Police Force Station, on De l’École Street, some parking spaces are reserved for security exchanges. This zone is a neutral ground for the transfer of children who are in shared custody or for the exchange of goods purchased online.

This safe zone is a clearly identified public place, under video surveillance 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The use of this type of area reduces problems, fraudulent transactions and personal theft. It happens too often that malicious people use sites and networks (Kijiji, Marketplace, etc.) to commit fraud or steal from people during in-person meetings.

If you find it difficult to transfer your children to their other parent, if you plan to exchange or sell items on online resale sites or social media, the Edmundston Police Force recommends that you use this safe zone, which is at your disposal.
